What do I do?
Invent.
Build.
Manage an awesome team.
Then it gets confusing. I write stories. Read Freud. Obsess with the Beatles. Build social websites. Struggle to get Vedanta. And, above all, pamper my two kids.

What have I done?
Location-based services, data-optical networks, network management systems and planning tools, web proxies, approximate query answering, and histograms in databases.
I developed Alert Earth in response to the Indian ocean tsunami to alert people about disasters, recalls, and more. It sends out some 100,000 alerts a month.
I founded an internal venture at Alcatel-Lucent focusing on Geographic Messaging (GMS). We run a mobile social networking service called Geopepper.
