breloc

breloc is a small program that does binary edits on files to relocate compiled-in "prefix"es, padding with extra slashes to make up for differences in the length of the prefixes. In order for breloc to be most effective, a binary package should be configured with a prefix that has a lot of extra slashes at the end of it. For more detailed information see the breloc man page.

breloc is part of the NSBD package, but it is also quite useful independently. It is covered by the terms of the GNU General Public License. You can download the C source which should compile on any platform, or you can download the NSBD binary package and use the breloc program that comes with it.

breloc does not have its own mailing list but it is appropriate to discuss it on the NSBD mailing list. For more information on doing binary relocation in NSBD, see "relocTop" in the NSBD man page.
